Local Environmental Quality Procedures

Laguna Woods has adopted Local CEQA Procedures that include consideration of greenhouse gas emissions. Click here for a copy of our current local procedures.


Fire Zone Map

The state and the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) have released a map identifying fire severity zones - very high, high and moderate - in the City of Laguna Woods. The City has adopted materials and methods regulations for new and remodeled construction in these zones.


Green Home Certification Program

The purpose of the Laguna Woods Green Homes program is to encourage and reward residents who incorporate sustainable practices in their homes, thereby improving the environmental health of the City. There are three levels of certification.

Affordable Housing Regulations
On January 21, 2009, the City of Laguna Woods unaninously adopted an ordinance amending the City’s zoning code to establish affordable housing regulations.

Citizen Involvement in the Code Enforcement Process

Neighborhoods are the environment in which we live. Blight and nuisances can devalue, detract and degrade the quality of the city and your neighborhood. The City depends on the eyes and ears of its residents to assure that it rules and regulations are followed. Be a part of that process by reporting City Code violations to city hall.


Medical Marijuana Dispensaries

REGULATORY PERMIT APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE
The City of Laguna Woods has adopted a regulatory process that will allow medical marijuana dispensaries (non-profits) to operate in certain areas of the city under certain conditions. Application packets are available at City Hall and on the website.
